NBR Dia. n/a: LNER Dia. 32B: brake van (Kit Ref 9110)

The prototype

This kit is for the Chalmers 4-wheel brake van, designed by the NBR but introduced in 1923 after the LNER grouping. This also used the longer 18 foot body and was rated at 20 tons from new. Fitted with standard buffers and oil axleboxes (supplied with kit) both were changed over their working life with various types and reference to photographs is recommended. Twenty-four are known to have been built. Withdrawal took place from the mid 1940s with some surviving into British Railways ownership. The last were gone by 1955 after Departmental use as Ballast Brakes.

I am only able to provide the earlier standard NBR carriage buffer which is similar in appearance to that which was fitted from new. LNER axleboxes or other buffers types will need to be obtained separately.
